Timeline
Draft documentation: This document was created with the help of AI and has not yet been fully reviewed by a human.
Timeline edits actions arranged on tracks over time. Open a timeline from Timelines. Keep Properties visible for the timeline or selected action.
Arrange actions
Right-click a track and choose Insert Action..., then select the appropriate existing target and action. Drag actions to position them. Select an action to set its label, position, duration, and target-specific settings in Properties. Track context actions rename, mute, solo, or remove a track.
Audio can be dropped onto the timeline to provide a waveform for alignment. Beatgrid controls expose BPM and beats per bar; beat detection availability depends on the build and installed model. Check detected timing against the music before using it as an editing grid.
Navigate and rehearse
Use zoom, scroll mode, markers, regions, and the jump control to navigate longer arrangements. Jump accepts labels, time expressions such as t 1:05:05, and bar expressions such as b 45:04. Loop controls rehearse a range.
Properties includes linked timecode (with its source; change the source in Timecodes), start/end, audio, lookahead, trigger mode, seek behavior, and stop behavior. Seeking can affect scheduled actions; choose its behavior deliberately before rehearsing command actions or other actions with side effects.
Use Play timeline, Pause timeline, and Stop timeline for transport. Pausing and stopping have distinct behavior. Stop the timeline when finished, including after recording or rehearsal, and check Status Display for remaining instances. Save the showfile to keep the arrangement.
