Layers
Draft documentation: This document was created with the help of AI and has not yet been fully reviewed by a human.
Layers explains how programmer and playback contributions combine into fixture output. Open it from the Command Palette when a value does not match the cue you expected.
Inspect the available layer sources and select a layer to view fixture and element attributes. Filters and column visibility help narrow a large rig. The source reveal action opens the corresponding show object when one is available.
Compare a layer's values with Fixtures, which shows the resulting fixture state. More than one active layer can address the same attribute; priority and merge behavior determine the contribution that reaches output.
A live programmer instruction can continue to influence output after a cue is stored. Clear Programmer, stop unrelated instances in Status Display, and inspect masters when isolating a playback problem. Editing a source definition and observing its output are separate steps.
